  • President-Elect

    3 YR TERM

    This position serves to support the President and to prepare for chapter leadership and ensures that professional standards are upheld. Shall carry out official duties requested by the President and/or board of Directors. Preference will be given to candidates that are currently or have previously served as an IIDA MI board member in the past 8 years. 

    The preferred candidate is a visionary and strategic thinker with the ability to guide the chapter's long-term strategy. Strong leadership skills, demonstrated by prior service as a board member on the IIDA Michigan Chapter, are essential. Proficiency in facilitation, conflict management, and financial skills is highly desirable.

  • Chapter Administrator

    1 YR TERM

    This appointed position reports up to the President-Elect, President, and Chapter Board. The Chapter Administrator assists the board in various administrative tasks, such as scheduling meetings, preparing meeting materials and collecting VP board reports. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for the chapter, including meeting minutes, financial documents, and other important records. Coordinate logistics for Chapter Board of Director meetings and/ or events including venue selection, catering arrangements, registration management, and attendee communication. mailings. Attend Board Meetings and take meeting minutes. Assists, as needed, on event committees.

  • VP of Membership

    2 YR TERM

    This elected position is responsible for member recruitment, retention and management of membership benefits and services. Responsibilities include coordinating programs focusing on membership recruitment, overseeing committees whose function is to promote membership and maintaining member contact information for the Chapter roster.

    The ideal candidate should develop and implement strategies for growth and retention while addressing member needs to create an inclusive environment. They must efficiently manage multiple tasks, with attention to detail in tracking membership data and initiatives. Strong networking skills and creativity in developing programs and benefits are essential, along with openness to new ideas for engagement.

  • Director of Student Affairs

    1 YR TERM

    This appointed position reports to the VP of Student Affairs and is responsible for supporting activities between the Chapter and Interior Design students and Campus Centers.  Responsibilities will include supporting student benefit program development and oversight, such as mentoring, guest lectures, and workshops. 

    The ideal candidate has a student centered approach, with a genuine commitment to serving and advocating for the needs and interests of students. This candidate is able to collaborate with academic departments and campus centers with the goal of supporting student success.

  • VP of Industry Relations & Events

    2 YR TERM

    This elected position oversees the City Center Co-Directors, Director of Signature Events and the Director of Industry Relations and Sponsors. Responsibilities include overseeing the Chapter’s city center and signature events in accordance with budget and revenue goals, collaborating with respective directors on budget progress and planning, and managing the development of Committee and Volunteer assignments. Preference will be given to candidates who have served on the Chapter Board of Directors for a minimum of 1 previous year. 

    The ideal candidate has extensive experience in event planning and exceptional organizational skills. They demonstrate leadership qualities, inspiring and managing volunteers effectively while contributing to strategic planning.

  • Director of Sponsorship & Patrons

    1 YR TERM

    The Vice President of Sponsorship shall be responsible for creating and distributing sponsorship letters and applications. He/she will create and maintain a spreadsheet of sponsor company names, contact information and donation allocations. He/she shall distribute sponsorship acknowledgement letters to sponsors thanking them for their contribution and indicating their sponsor level. They shall provide accurate sponsorship listing to all event chairpersons at their request and endure that all sponsors are included in the mailing list.

  • Director of Signature Events

    1-2 YR TERM

    This appointed position reports to the VP of Industry Relations & Events and is responsible for organizing and overseeing the IIDA MI Chapter signature events. The Director of Signature Events is also responsible for leading signature event committees. Responsibilities include leading the signature event committee, developing goals and budgets for signature events of the term, working with our communications team for promotional materials and overseeing committee/ volunteer members of the Signature Events Committee. 

    The ideal candidate has the ability to manage large-scale events from conception to execution. They should also be adept at collaborating with vendors, sponsors, and volunteers to ensure successful and memorable events that align with the Chapter’s goals. 

  • Digital Content Director

    1-2 YR TERM

    This appointed position reports directly to the VP of Communications and is responsible for the design and creation of all digital graphics leveraging Canva for social media, marketing campaigns, events and donor communications. Responsibilities include designing and maintaining appealing graphics for social media, email campaigns, newsletters, website, and developing templates and design guides for recurring content.

    The ideal candidate has a strong eye for design, color, and layout and is proficient in Canva. They should also be detail oriented ensuring consistency in branding across all visual materials and capable of meeting deadlines while handling multiple projects.

  • City Center Director - Grand Rapids

    1-2 YR TERM

    This appointed position reports to the VP of Industry Relations & Events. The City Center Directors are responsible for assisting in organizing and planning programs and activities at both the City Center level and for Signature and Special events - collaborating with all teams and committees (Professional Development, Advocacy, Membership, Student Affairs, and Event Committees).

    The ideal candidate position would be a dynamic, visionary leader with strong communication skills, strategic thinking abilities, and a passion for community engagement.

  • City Center Director - Detroit

    1-2 YR TERM

    This appointed position reports to the VP of Industry Relations & Events. The City Center Directors are responsible for assisting in organizing and planning programs and activities at both the City Center level and for Signature and Special events - collaborating with all teams and committees (Professional Development, Advocacy, Membership, Student Affairs, and Event Committees).
